41st Kerala State Film Awards Distributed

The 41st Kerala State Film awards for Malayalam movies were dsitributed by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy at a grand function held at Corporation Stadium in Kozhikde organised by Chalachitra Academy on Monday 28th November 2011.

The versatile Malayalam actor Salim Kumar received the best actor award 2010 for the film Adaminte Makan Abu, directed by Salim Ahmed.

Malayalam film actress Kavya Madhavan received best actress award for the film Ghaddama of Kamal.

Malayalam film director Salim Ahmed received the best feature film award for his film Adaminte Makan Abu

Acclaimed Malayalam film director Shyamaprasad accepted the best director award for Elektra.

K.K. Ammini, mother of the late director Mohan Raghavan accepted the best debutant director award for the film T.D. Dasan Std VI B. Best story (Gramam) award presented to Mohan Sarma. In the absence of Suraj, a representitive of him received the best comedian award.

The Award distribution Souvenir was released by Minister M.K. Muneer by handing over it to Gadhimathi Balan. Minister K.B. Ganesh Kumar presided over the function. Tamil actor Surya was the chief guest. Chalachitra Academy Chairman Priyadarsan, actor Dileep, MLAs K.M Shaji and M.V. Shreyams Kumar, Minister M.K.Muneer and other dignitaries attended the function.

Director Ranjith boycotted the Awards function as a mark of protest against the government for failing to take initiative in solving the Mulla Periyar issue. He did not receive the Best Popular film award for his Malayalam movie Pranchiyettan and the Saint
